excerpt

In The Morning

there's
this golden moment
when the sun
licks through the gauze
fluttering at my window
warming my eyelids to opening

this golden moment
when I'm not yet awake enough
to remember
that there are things
I would rather
forget.

Anger

For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.

"You Inspire Me"

I think the greatest compliment you can give someone is, “You inspire me.” And that is the reason I blog. Not because I’m waiting for someone to come along and say it, but because I want to be the type of person that inspires people. I want to inspire people to be passionate or be positive. To be open-minded or to follow their dreams. Or maybe just to enjoy life, because like everyone says, it’s short. I think I’m starting to believe that more every day. And if I can make people value their lives and not waste them away on worrying or being negative, then that is a huge compliment to me.

Music

I really can't understand how there are some people out there who don't like music. It just boggles my mind. Music is literally my life. I may not play an instrument or read music, but I'm one of those people who can cry if they hear a beautiful song. And every time they listen to that song. I appreciate meaningful lyrics that make you think or feel as if you've learned something new. A song can make a moment or help you remember one. And for the people who claim they don't like music, they're liars. Everyone has a certain song that they feel explains them or is them.

"Music expresses that of which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent."
-Victor Hugo

Words

Daring and not held back.
Giving off a radiant happiness.
Blowing away faces in the wind.
Engraved in beating hearts forever.
Whispering to the sky.
Made from thoughts and old junk.
Confusing to the mind.
Correcting to the heart.
Curving in and out of reality and love.

A Faithful Thing

Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space. It does not seek anything in return; it asks not whether you are friend or foe. It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished.

Redo

Went to go see Charlie St. Cloud yesterday with friends and enjoyed it. It really got me thinking too. In the movie, Charlie gets into a car crash with his 11 year old brother, Sam. Sam died and Charlie lived. Later on in the movie, Charlie comes across the paramedic who saved his life, and the paramedic tells Charlie that he thinks God gave Charlie a second chance on life for a reason. (I'm not going to tell you the reason, silly, go watch it yourself:) But after the movie I was thinking about second chances. I mean, if i could have a second chance on something, what what I use it on? I decided that I would probably use it on things I've said or done. I can't exactly pinpoint one thing.
So, if you could have a second chance, what would you use it on?
Comments are welcome. :)

Be an Individual- A Poem

Be an Individual

Be an individual and accept yourself the way you are.
Each of your good traits are what make you a good person.
Yell your name really loud when no one's around.
Open your mind and learn life lessons.
Uncover your smile and let it speak for itself.
Run until you feel you're escaped from everything.
Sing from deep down inside your heart.
Even if you have nothing to say, share what you're thinking.
Let yourself shine so bright, people need sunglasses to look at you.
Follow your heart and dreams, even if they stop in the middle of the road.

Regina Spektor - Human of the Year

Hello, hello

Calling a Karl Projectorinski
To the front, over the cathedral
You have won, dear sir
May I congratulate you first
Oh what an honor

Human, human of the year
You won [x2]

Why are you so scared
You stand their shaking in your pew
The icons are whispering to you
They're just old men
Like on the benches in the park
Except their balding spots are glistening with gold

Human, human of the year
You won [x2]
You have won

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Outside the cars are beeping
Out a song
Just in your honor
And though they do not know it
All mankind are now your brothers
And as the cathedral has spoken
Wishing well to all us sinners
And with the sigh grows silent
Til next year's big human winner

Outside the cars are beeping
Out a song
Just in your honor
And though they do not know it
All mankind are now your brothers
All mankind are now your brothers

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hello, hello
Calling a Karl Projectorinski
To the front, over the cathedral
You have won.
